Butter Detailing is a mobile interior car detailing business in Toronto, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit this website, ask for a quote, book a Reset, or text or call us, and how we use and protect it.

What we collect

• When you ask for a price: your first name, mobile number, vehicle type, postal code, the time that works best for you and, if a friend sent you, their name.
• When you book: your name, email address, mobile number, street address and postal code, vehicle type, the date and time you pick, and anything you tell us about your car.
• When you pick add-ons: the add-ons you tick after sending a quote request or booking.
• When you text or call us: your phone number and what you send us, including photos of your car.
• When you visit the website: technical information your browser sends, such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, and the ad or link that brought you here.

How we use it

• To reply to you, usually by text within 5 minutes between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
• To give you an exact price, book and confirm your appointment, and send your detailer's name, photo and start window the day before.
• To do the work, honour The Cupholder Guarantee and The On-Time Promise, and follow up afterwards.
• To run the Family Car Club, referral rewards and other offers you take part in.
• To keep business and tax records.
• To see which ads and links bring in quote requests and bookings, so we spend less on ads that don't work.

We don't sell your personal information.

Texts

When you send a quote request or book, you agree to get texts from Butter about your quote or booking. How often depends on your booking. Reply STOP at any time and we'll stop. Your carrier's message and data rates may apply. We won't send you promotional texts unless you've agreed to them.

Companies that help us

We share personal information only with companies that help us run Butter, and only what each one needs for its job:

• Calendly runs our booking calendar and keeps your booking details.
• Close is where we keep customer records, including quote requests and bookings.
• Make passes quote requests and bookings from this website and Calendly to Close, and alerts us when one comes in.
• Cloudflare hosts this website and handles technical information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect it.
• Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on this website, so your browser shares your IP address with Google when it loads them.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram) runs our ads and measures them through the Meta Pixel, explained below.

Some of these companies store information outside Canada, including in the United States and Europe. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country, and courts, law enforcement and national security authorities there may be able to access it.

The Meta Pixel and cookies

This website uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta Platforms. It tells Meta when someone views a page, taps Book, Text or Call, sends a quote request or books, so we can tell which ads work and show our ads to people who are likely to need us. To do this, Meta may set cookies in your browser and connect these events with information it already has about you.

We set up our pages so that your name, phone number, email and address are not sent to Meta in page addresses. You can limit how Meta uses this information in your Facebook or Instagram settings under ad preferences, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires, such as tax rules that require us to keep business records for six years. After that, we delete it.

How we protect it

Only the people who need your information to serve you can see it. We use established service providers that protect data with industry-standard security, and we never put your name, phone number or address in our website's page addresses.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent at any time, for example by replying STOP to our texts. Email admin@butterdetailing.ca and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Children

This website is for adults booking a service. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
